Card Making

The art of making greetings cards has become a very popular hobby over the last decade and has steadiily grown alongside scrapbooking and rubber stamping.   There are now several magazines in the UK and the US that are devoted to cardmaking, aswell as over 150 books published on the subject.

Handmade items have become increasingly popular to consumers, and handmade cards are no exception.  Over the past couple of years crafters have tried to make a profit from their card making by setting up small businesses.  The popularity of e-bay has made this possible for many crafters, along with the low set-up costs of websites and internet based selling.  This has also had an effect on the increased popularity of craft fairs and craft markets.
